Please read these terms carefully before utilizing our payment hub. Features details on your rights, restrictions, and the 1-month zero transaction fee policy.

1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility

By creating an account, accessing, or using the DevPoint web platform (collectively referred to as the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately cease using the platform.

To be eligible to use DevPoint, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a resident of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with a valid Nigerian bank account.
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that fail to meet these eligibility requirements at our sole discretion.

2. Account Registration & KYC Requirements

To access wallet features, fund transfers, and bill payments on DevPoint, you must complete our Know Your Customer (KYC) onboarding. This process is mandated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for financial services.

  • Verification Details: You agree to provide your Bank Verification Number (BVN), National Identity Number (NIN), and phone number registered with your BVN.
  • Third-Party Checking: You authorize DevPoint to verify these details using licensed identity verification services (such as Dojah, Smile Identity, and VerifyMe).
  • Information Accuracy: You agree to maintain only one account and take full responsibility for keeping your account details, transactions, security PINs, and login credentials confidential.

3. Promotional Zero-Fee Period (1 Month Free)

Special Nigerian Fintech User Privilege: 30-Day Free Window

To welcome you to DevPoint, **newly registered users will not be charged or debited any service fees, transaction fees, or administrative charges for any modifications or payments made through the platform for exactly one month (30 days) starting from the date of registration.**

Under this promotion, the following services have zero transaction fees during your first month:

  • Utility bill payments (Electricity, Internet, Cable TV subscriptions).
  • Airtime top-ups and mobile data bundle purchases.
  • Standard local bank transfers from your DevPoint wallet.
  • Security and metadata changes (e.g., updating transaction PINs, notifications, profile updates).

Please note: External deposits to your wallet from third-party debit cards (e.g. processed via Paystack) may still be subject to standard merchant fee rules, but **DevPoint will not impose any platform-side debits for transactions/modifications.**

Following the expiration of this 30-day promotional window, standard transaction charges as outlined on our pricing portal will automatically apply.

4. Permitted Use & Prohibited Activities

You agree to use DevPoint only for lawful financial transactions. You are strictly prohibited from:

  • Using the Service for any fraudulent, illegal, or unauthorized business activities (e.g., money laundering, terrorist financing, card fraud).
  • Providing false, inaccurate, or misleading identity information during KYC.
  • Attempting to bypass security keys, hacking, or reverse engineering any part of the DevPoint web service.
  • Facilitating multi-accounting to exploit the 1-month zero-fee promotional window.
Zero Tolerance for Fraud: Suspected fraudulent accounts will be frozen immediately, and all details (including BVN and associated IPs) will be escalated to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and relevant law enforcement agencies.

5. Wallet Deposits, Payments & Refunds

Our payment gateway is integrated with Paystack to secure your card transactions and deposits.

  • Transaction Failures: In the event of a failed utility or bill payment where your wallet has been debited, DevPoint will execute a reversal and refund the exact debited amount directly back to your wallet within 24 to 48 hours.
  • Chargebacks: Fraudulent chargebacks initiated by a bank card will result in immediate suspension of the corresponding DevPoint wallet and recovery efforts.

6. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification

DevPoint makes every effort to maintain a secure and 99.9% uptime for our digital services. However, the platform is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without any express warranties.

DevPoint, its parent company, and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from:

  • Temporary server downtimes or ISP network disruptions in Nigeria.
  • Incorrect bank account details or phone numbers entered by the user during transaction execution.
  • Any loss arising from compromised user credentials due to user negligence.

7. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of theFederal Republic of Nigeria.

In the event of any dispute or claim arising from your use of DevPoint, you agree to first contact our support desk at support@devpoint.spacefor amicable resolution.

If a resolution cannot be reached within thirty (30) business days, the dispute shall be referred to and resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act of Nigeria, with the venue of arbitration being Lagos, Nigeria.
